Settlement Agreement

We provide independent legal advice upon Settlement Agreements / Compromise Agreements for a fixed fee of £500+vat. We will let you know if we need to increase that amount once we have seen the draft Agreement.

Settlement Agreements are legally binding agreements made between employers and employees, which seek to end the employment relationship.  Employees are normally offered a sum of compensation on the basis that they will not brining further legal claims against their employer.

However, before signing the Settlement Agreement the employee must ordinarily obtain independent legal advice and, by providing this, our firm will ensure you are receiving the agreed sum of compensation and not signing any unduly restrictive covenants for example. Our obligation is to explain the terms of the agreement the employee is to be bound by, as well the consequences of signing the Settlement Agreement.
